Preaching on Campus

Since Feb 13, 2009 God has allowed me to preach His Word to the students in front of the library on campus. Yes, I'm a campus preacher. I've created this blog for people that have heard the preaching on campus. I welcome all atheists, agnostics, Christians, Muslims, Hindus, Buddhists, Jews, and everyone else to listen to God's Word. I believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God. He was crucified and died for our sins, was buried, and God raised Him from the dead the third day. Jesus Christ is alive today. God commands all men everywhere to repent, because there will be a Judgment Day, when God will judge the secrets of men by Jesus Christ. So believe (trust) in Jesus Christ and be forgiven. Repent and believe! Be baptized! If you have a question or comment on the preaching, please post here. My name is Sam, and I am a Baptist Christian. I was baptized in 2004 at a local Baptist church in Ames, Iowa. If you are not a Christian, I urge you to read the Gospel of John and follow Jesus. So if you are at Iowa State University, and want to hear campus preaching, come to the library around 5 pm to hear it.

Believe on Him, but also to suffer for Him

"For it has been granted to you on behalf of Christ not only to believe on him, but also to suffer for him" (Phil 1:29)
Do you see this passage from the Bible? The Creator of the universe, the Almighty God speaks to his creatures. So hear this. Here the Apostle Paul tells the believers that it has been "granted" to them to "believe on him." Believe on who? Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ and you will be saved. It says "not only to believe on Him, but also to suffer for him." So the Christian believes on the Lord Jesus, but also suffers for Him. They believed on Jesus, but they were also granted suffering. Many suffer because they reject sin and falsehood and embrace Jesus, the only way to heaven. And yet our suffering does not save us or forgive our sins, but Christ's suffering does. We believe in Jesus who suffered for us, as the Bible says "For Christ also suffered once for sins, the just for the unjust, that He might bring us to God" (1 Peter 3:18). Jesus Christ suffered ONCE for our sins when he died on the cross. Jesus Christ is just. In fact, he is perfectly righteous, good and holy. Jesus Christ is fully human and fully God, and yet He never sinned in his entire life. He is "the Just" who suffered for "the unjust" - so that "He might bring us to God." The Bible tells us that "the Lord knows how to deliver the godly out of temptations and to reserve the unjust under punishment for the day of judgment" (2 Peter 2:9). Yes, the unjust, the unrighteous, the ungodly. "Do you not know that the unrighteous will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived. Neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor homosexuals, nor sodomites, nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners will inherit the kingdom of God." (1 Cor 6:9). And I warn you that "God will judge the secrets of men by Jesus Christ" (Romans 2:16). And "But the cowardly, unbelieving, abominable, murderers, sexually immoral, sorcerers, idolaters, and all liars shall have their part in the lake which burns with fire and brimstone, which is the second death.” (Rev 21:8). So God commands you to repent, because He will judge the world by the Son of God, the Lord Jesus Christ. Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and you will not be condemned. The Scriptures say "for not all have faith" (2 Thes 3:2) and "But without faith it is impossible to please Him" (Heb 11:6). God also tells us that "So then faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God." (Romans 10:17). So hear the good news, that Jesus Christ died for our sins, was buried, but God raised Him from the dead. So Jesus Christ is alive right now! He is Lord! Repent! Whoever believes in Him is forgiven of their sins and declared righteous by God. Believe on Him who, although innocent, suffered for our sins on the cross and who kept God's law perfectly for us sinners. Believe on Jesus Christ, the Son of God, our Lord and Savior, who saves us from our sins.
